We are excited to release Duplicati 2.3.1.1 Beta (2.3.1.1_beta_2026-08-26), focusing on system-level flexibility, cross-platform UI polish, and deep backup engine stability. This testing release brings several community-requested features to help refine our next major stable version.
Key Highlights
Partition-Level Disk Operations: Full disk backups now allow selecting individual partitions as backup sources. You can perform targeted partition-to-partition restores or pull a single partition out of a full disk backup without configuring complex exclusion filters.
Native Cross-Platform Notifications: Desktop alerts are now native across all major environments. Windows includes interactive toast notifications with click-to-open support, while macOS and Linux receive native OS-level notification integration (via DBus).
Smarter Restore Engine: Restores now instantly respond to stop/abort requests, file reads/writes can be cleanly interrupted, and a critical seek-offset issue affecting partial blocks has been resolved.
Filter Misconfiguration Warnings: New proactive safeguards detect when inclusion/exclusion rules unintentionally exclude all target files, preventing empty backup runs from executing silently.
